CRUISE

Port Zante

There is comfortable accommodation for cruise ships at two dedicated berths at Port Zante in the heart of Basseterre’s waterfront area.  These modern facilities are large enough to accommodate ‘Oasis’ class cruise ships as well as receive smaller pleasure craft. Port Zante is one of the few ports in the English-speaking Caribbean that can accommodate the world’s largest cruise vessels.

The pier is 1,100 ft long with a minimum depth alongside of 28 ft., and is designed to withstand the most powerful hurricane experienced in the islands over the past century.  Both the pier and the adjacent marina are protected by a revetment. Dockside services include fresh water, minor repairs, pilotage, port security, shuttle service, stevedoring, storage facilities, slops reception and disposal of waste and garbage.  A tender service is available by arrangement.

Visitors can enjoy a meal or go shopping at the Port Zante Shopping Complex which has a wide range of duty free outlets and craft stalls, restaurants, banking facilities, public telephones and a tourist information service. Taxis and tours are available close by and the town centre of Basseterre is only a stroll away from the cruise ship terminal.

Most of the major cruise companies operating in the Caribbean call at St. Kitts.  These include Carnival Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, P & O Cruises, Seabourn Cruises, Sea Cloud, Star Clippers and Windjammer.
